Privacy
Version 1 · September 13, 2026. Short on purpose, so you can read all of it. The same policy is on the game's Steam page.
What stays on your computer
- Progress, catches, inventory and settings.
- Your pace metrics, per day, for 30 days: minutes with the game open, catches, tradable finds, coins earned and spent, stages cleared and stars.
These files never leave your PC.
What goes to Steam and to our server
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| SteamID | To identify your account |
| Validated progress (level, stages, minutes with the game open) | To unlock tradable finds without fraud |
| Tradable catches and send/receive operations | To grant and reconcile items in the Steam Inventory without losing anything |
| The reason for a Steam sending suspension | To show it to you and allow an appeal |
| In-game activity (see below) | Support, game balance and fighting fraud |
In-game activity tied to your account
With the server set up, every 5 minutes the game sends, together with the "game is open" signal:
- A snapshot of the moment: level, current pond, stage, coins, diamonds, gear and pet in use, game version and system (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Game events: catches (species, rarity, size, stars), chests opened and what came out, stages cleared, level ups, pond changes, orders, offerings, recipes and village purchases.
Rules:
- Only things that happen inside the game; nothing from your PC (see "What we never collect").
- Events are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically.
- Only the game team sees them, in a panel protected by a password, an authenticator code and a log of every access.
- They're included in the copy and deletion of your data (see "Your rights").
Anonymous metrics (optional, off by default)
- Only with Settings › Privacy › Send anonymous metrics: Yes.
- Only the daily totals listed above are sent, with no SteamID, no name and no stored IP.
- Only finished days are sent (from yesterday up to 7 days back), each day once, at most every 6 hours.
- The server can't tell who sent them: it only keeps the sum of all reports for each day, never a row per player.
- Turning the option off stops sending right away; what stays on your PC doesn't change.
What we never collect
- Files, open programs or processes on your PC.
- Keystrokes, screen content, microphone or camera.
- Real name, e-mail, address or payment data (payments stay with Steam).
What the game never does
- It doesn't start with your computer unless you tell it to.
- It doesn't run anything hidden after it's closed.
- System notifications only with the option on (off by default).
Your rights
Ask for a copy or deletion of the server data tied to your SteamID through the game's support channel. Deleting the local files removes everything kept on your PC.
- Copy: everything the server keeps about your SteamID (account, operations, tradable catches, diamond orders, tournament entries and in-game activity).
- Deletion: removes the account, operations, orders, entries, in-game activity and the catches in the game. A fish already on Steam keeps existing for whoever holds it, but its record no longer mentions you. Payments stay with Steam, which has its own policy.
- With an open sending suspension or review, deletion waits for the decision, so the anti-fraud history isn't erased in the middle of it.
